UK Cloud Company Voted AIM Mid -Sized PLC of Year
iomart Group PLC (AIM: IOM) has been voted AIM Mid -Sized PLC of Year at the inaugural Scottish Corporate Awards.
At last night’s awards ceremony the judges highlighted iomart’s rapid expansion through organic growth and acquisitions. From its headquarters in Glasgow, iomart now owns and operates data centres at eight locations across the UK and employs more than 320 people. In the past year it has added backup and disaster recovery specialist Backup Technology in Leeds, and dedicated server specialist Redstation on the South coast of England to its Group brands.
Angus MacSween, Chief Executive of iomart, said: “Our data centres and our technical expertise is powering a new industrial revolution which is taking place in the Cloud. We continue to provide the IT infrastructure to support the It needs of customers across Scotland and the UK and we’re delighted that our continuing success story has been recognised once again within the corporate community in Scotland.”
The Scottish Corporate Awards are the successor to the Scotland PLC Awards and celebrate the achievements of listed companies as well as Scotland’s most successful private companies. This is the third year in a row in which iomart has won the AIM Mid -Sized PLC category.
The Scottish Corporate Awards are sponsored by Barclays. Other winners at the ceremony in Glasgow last night included bus maker Alexander Dennis and STV Group.
