iomart CEO honoured with Top Business Award
Angus MacSween, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of the iomart Group which specialises in web hosting and Internet Security software has won the Glenfiddich® Spirit of Scotland Award for Business. Angus was one of 4 nominations in the prestigious Business category, the other nominees being Sir Fred Goodwin (Royal Bank of Scotland), Bill Gammell, (Cairn Energy) & Tom Hunter (West Coast Capital).
Angus received his award from Susan Rice, Chief Executive of Lloyds TSB Scotland at last night’s glittering televised ceremony, held in Edinburgh’s Prestonfield hotel.
On receiving his award, Angus commented “I am very proud and delighted to have won this award particularly given the calibre of the other nominees in this category”.
The Glenfiddich Spirit of Scotland Awards, now in its seventh year, was established by the independent, family owned single malt brand to recognise individuals who lead the way in various aspects of Scottish culture.
Previous winners of the Award for Business include Sir Ian Wood, Susan Rice and entrepreneur Chris Gorman.
Other winners at last night’s event included: Colin Montgomery for Sport, Brian Cox for Screen, Louise Welsh for Writing & Still Game for Broadcast. Shirley Robertson, the double Olympic gold winning yachtswoman, received the Top Scot of the Year Award.

Unlike many award schemes the winners of the Glenfiddich Sprit of Scotland Awards are not decided by an elite judging panel but by the people of Scotland. The Awards are run in partnership with The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday and are broadcast by STV and Grampian Television.Subscribe to RSS Feed
