iomart and Backup Technology are UK IT Industry Awards Finalists

Shortlisted for Data Centre Project of Year and Best Use of Cloud Services

iomart and its backup specialist brand Backup Technology have been selected as finalists for this year’s BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards.

iomart is a finalist in the category for Data Centre Project of the Year for the creation of its first software defined data centre. While Backup Technology has been shortlisted for Best Use of Cloud Services for its project to help wines and spirits co-leader Pernod Ricard achieve centralised and consistent backup and Disaster Recovery in EMEA.

iomart recently completed a multi-million pound extension to its Maidenhead data centre, creating a fully-automated Software Defined Data Centre. The project marked the first major global deployment of Cisco Dynamic Fabric Automation and Bi Directional Transmission technology using Corning OM4 Fibre. iomart can now provision services dynamically against any customer requirement.

Backup Technology implemented an Asigra Cloud Backup solution for Pernod Ricard in EMEA transforming what had been an ad hoc approach into a single highly effective backup solution, whilst also establishing a Disaster Recovery solution with defined Recovery Time and Recovery Point objectives.
