iomart has worked in partnership with infrastructure specialist iTG Technologies to create a secure and scalable hybrid cloud platform for one of the UK’s fastest growing companies.

Acrobat Carbon Services handles marketing, administration, installation and compliance for blue chip clients including the big six energy companies. It was featured in the most recent Sunday Times FastTrack 100 as one of the top performing private companies and has just been named Fastest Growing Large Business for 2016 in the Greater Manchester Fastest 50 Awards.

In a period when Acrobat’s sales were increasing from £6m to £24m per annum the business needed a fully-accredited, robust and highly available infrastructure solution that could scale whilst also providing the secure storage, backup and disaster recovery required by its blue chip clients. iomart and iTG worked together to design, implement and migrate Acrobat’s entire IT environment onto iomart’s hybrid CloudSure platform.

Karen Bailey, Head of IT & Data Services for Acrobat Carbon Services, said: “It was important for Acrobat to ensure that the partners we worked with met the stringent requirements that our clients expect of us. In iTG and iomart we have found the perfect mix of proactive managed services and secure scalable infrastructure.”

iomart provides CloudSure virtual machines based on VMware with managed dedicated firewalls plus cloud backup and object storage. iTG’s CloudBase managed services ensure 24/7 monitoring and support.

Michael Ruddick, head of channel for iomart, commented: “As cloud partners iTG and iomart worked closely together to get the right outcome for Acrobat Carbon Services and their customers. With secure connectivity from our ISO accredited data centre network they can meet their compliance obligations while supporting remote working and expand and contract their workload according to the ongoing projects they are delivering.”

Simon Spurrell, CEO of iTG said: “Acrobat’s existing local IT environment had reached its threshold and our managed support in close partnership with iomart’s scalable and highly available hybrid cloud solution was recommended to them. The migration was seamless and the hosting solution has provided Acrobat Carbon Services with the flexibility they need to continue their incredible growth.”

Acrobat Carbon Services is proud of the work it does to helps some of the poorest people in the country by delivering carbon and energy efficiency-based schemes for the big energy companies.

Kevin Griffin, Managing Director of Acrobat Carbon Services, said: “This year is going to be exceptionally busy for us as the energy companies we work for focus on hitting the UK government’s efficiency targets. With new schemes on the way targeted more at those in fuel poverty, an area in which we have a market-leading capability to deliver, there will be more opportunities for us. Our move to the cloud gives us a totally portable and scalable IT infrastructure which proves our capabilities to deliver on the most demanding of contracts.”
