Jeanfield Swift Girls U11s are first winners of Host Your Kit
A girls’ football team in Perth in Scotland has received a brand new sponsored kit thanks to iomart Hosting after winning Host Your Kit, the cloud computing company’s nationwide football kit competition.
The competition, launched in March of this year, supports Youth Football by giving English, Scottish and Welsh clubs the opportunity to win a full adidas team kit simply by submitting a compelling case.
In all 30 youth football teams will receive new kits from iomart Hosting as the Host Your Kit campaign rolls out throughout the summer months.
Jeanfield Swift Girls sent more than 100 begging letters to local businesses to get sponsorship for a much needed new kit for their U11s team, but their plea fell on deaf ears. Now, their dream of a new kit has come true after they were declared the first winners of Host Your Kit.
Donna Shaw, coach of Jeanfield Swift Girls, said: “We’ve been desperate to get a new kit to show the girls how proud we are of their commitment and enthusiasm. We were really disappointed when we didn’t hear back from local businesses but now, thanks to iomart Hosting, our girls can walk onto the pitch with their heads held high. Winning Host Your Kit has brought all the Jeanfield Swift girls and their parents together and made us feel really special.”
Jane Robertson, Head of PR, iomart Group, who presented the team with its new adidas kit, said: “We’re delighted that Host Your Kit has been able to help Jeanfield Swift Girls Under 11s get the sponsored kit they so clearly deserve. As a leading cloud computing company we host the data and web applications for many successful businesses across the UK and with 2012 being such a massive year for sport we can now be the best host for football kits too.”
